here they go again

so i am super busy at work, but i stumbled across this tidbit

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-02-20-gay-adoption_x.htm

when taking a 5 minute break to surf the net. don't we have enough real issues in the world to worry about? this is absolutely absurd. for one, this is clearly a thinky veiled attempt to rally the bigot element that call themselves republicans in an early push for support for the 2008 election. the only thing that pisses off billy joe jim bob worse than osama bin laden is a "queers marrying or adopting kids."

this is aggrevating. how many kids are stuck with hetero parents who couldn't give a shit about them or worse yet, stuck in foster homes with foster parents that see them as little more than extra income?

are they for real?

check this out > http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060214/ap_on_re_us/wal_mart_contraception

so wal-mart is being forced by the state of massachusetts to carry the morning after pill after several women sued becuase it is illegal for pharmacies to not carry common over the counter stuff.

the article says that the company only carries the pill the illinois because it is required to. god i really hate this company, and yes this is why i don't shop there. why would anyone? yeah yeah, low prices, but do you now how wal-mart gets these lower prices, they strong arm suppliers. for example, say paper towels, they say to the bounty distributor either you give us 12-packs of bounty for $1 less than anyone else or every wal-mart across the country will not carry you. so walmart sells bounty for less than target or shop-rite or anyone can even buy it for.

then there is the issue of screwing their workers. sure they hire elderly people and unskilled labors, but thats no reason to screw them out of benefits.

walmart makes me ill, and when they impose their politics onto others it makes me angry.

oh and before you come at me with "i don't need the morning after pill anyway, so what do i care?" think that they already dopn't carry music or censor song titles and album art because they find it offensive. this is ridiculous that a corporation can decide what you get what you don't. sure you can go to another store, but wlamart makes it common place to undercut the comptetion and dirve them away. so your other option may be 40 miles away.

do not let this corporate monster dictate american life. boycott them NOW!

your thoughts?

fire the housekeeper, i am back !!!!!

*creeeeekkkkk*

wow, it's been a long time. i see you haven't clean since i have been gone. this blog is getting dusty and miskept....

so i am reading a lot about the cartoons from the denmark newspaper that are pissing off muslims around the world. apparently any depiction of the prophet is considered blasphemous.

in this day and age, i can't believe the word blasphemous is still being written in the media. but anyway, what are your thoughts on this?

do you:
1) think that people are too sensitive and should support the freedom of expression even if they don't agree with what is being said / written?

2) think that the people of the world should respect the religious wishes and sacrements of a different religion, even if it impedes on the right of freedom of expression? in other words, people should be more sensitive, understanding and tolerant to things they don't understand.

3) think that religion is a dangerous tool that when taken literally can lead to very bad things.

well i am sort of in the middle and agree with all three points (i know, way to ride the fence, ron!) but having to pick here, i would say #3 is most apt. religion is dated and dangerous and has no place in the world's power structure and retards rational thought. how is that for a stance?

i would like to hear your thoughts with explanations as to why you fell the way you do....

ok, go...
